Oxygensensor Test Stand
The Oxygen Sensor Test Stand represents only one of over three hundred pieces of Industrial Equipment designed and manufactured by EDL. This particular test stand was designed to test automotive oxygen sensors in a simulated auto exhaust system. The four head unit was capable of testing 240 units per hour with a full characterization curve (lean to rich mixture transition response curve) available for review. Pass / Fail indicators were used by production test personnel, with print-outs available for Engineering and Quality monitoring.
Key Benefits
-Modular system design with field replaceable subsystems
-Throughput twice the customer's specification
-Major components are off-the-shelf for low cost
Robotic Lapping System
We use off-the-shelf equipment and controllers when
cost / design constraints allow. Not one to reinvent the wheel,
EDL selected an off the shelf robot for the lapping system. The Robotic Lapping
System shown here is used to grind (lap) small automotive parts to
within 5 micron flatness. Capable of picking up 6 pieces at a
time, the custom designed gripper picks and returns parts to a handling
tray. The robots (there are two identical units in operation) have
operated 24 hours / day, 7 days a week for the past five years.
Key Benefits
-Interchangeable grippers for multiple part configurations
-Two-station, rotating feed tray for continuous load / unload operation
-Major components are off-the-shelf for low cost
